Princes' islands
are unique places compared to the mainland Istanbul in many ways—the Levantine
lifestyle devoid of any car traffic, cleaner air with beaches and villas, higher
percentage of green area and so on. However, recent development tends to destruct
rather than preserving the qualities of living. Sedef island, for instance,
have become a massive construction site for governmental congress centers.
Amidst and despite the destruction, the Princes’ Island Museum is
dedicated to document and share Island’s history with the public at large.
